Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Birkenhead who are seeking a dedicated Primary School SEND Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and other learning difficulties. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, adapted lessons that enable pupils to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
The school are looking for a teacher who can provide a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment while maintaining high expectations for all pupils. This role would be suitable for both experienced SEND teachers and mainstream teachers with a passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
The Role:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet individual pupil needs.
Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, communication needs and other SEND requirements.
Use adaptive teaching strategies and differentiation to ensure all pupils can access learning.
Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Monitor, assess and track pupil progress against personalised targets.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENCO, parents and external agencies.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and social development.
Maintain clear classroom routines and expectations to provide consistency and structure.
Participate fully in school life, including staff meetings, planning, assessments and parent consultations.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience working with pupils with SEND within a primary or specialist setting.
Strong understanding of adaptive teaching and differentiated learning.
Experience supporting pupils with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
