We are seeking a dedicated and physically active 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support two pupils on a one-to-one basis at a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Hertford. About the Role As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant in Hertford, you will work closely with two pupils-one in Nursery and one in Year 2-both diagnosed with Autism. These children are non-verbal, highly energetic, and require personal care as part of their daily support. This is a full-time role where your attentiveness and creativity will help provide structure, reassurance, and consistency. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing personal care with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times. Implementing strategies that help the children engage in learning activities and remain focused. Preventing running behaviours and ensuring a safe learning environment. Using non-verbal communication methods to interact and build strong, trusting relationships. Supporting the pupils emotionally, physically, and educationally in line with EHCPs. Is physically fit and confident in supporting pupils with high energy levels. Is comfortable and experienced with providing personal care. Can apply individualised strategies to promote engagement and safety. Has a calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to behaviour and communication support.
