JOB PURPOSE
To manage, develop and deliver a professional marketing support service and provide advice to the Social Services and Wellbeing Directorate.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop and implement a variety of campaign specific plans for service areas in the Directorate, including Children’s Social Services, Adult Social Care and Foster Wales Bridgend. Engaging in reviews of these on a regular basis as well as taking responsibility for budget monitoring for relevant activities.
Manage the development of and then maintain online media such as websites for specific services in the Directorate e.g., Foster Wales Bridgend, social work and care worker recruitmentas well as contributing to the day-to-day management of the corporate website and social media channels in areas relating to the Directorate. This includes developing suitable content for platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn as well as content for GovDelivery ebulletins, developing web copy, securing online advertising etc.
Lead on the production of marketing literature such as newsletters, digital media and videos, brochures, flyers etc and other marketing materials e.g., pop-up banners and point of sale displays, as well as communications activities (except media enquiries) for the Directorate.
Manage/organise and promote events on behalf of the Directorate including recruitment events for both Children’s and Adult Social Services. To also attend and represent the Directorate at a variety of internal or externally organised events, seminars, and meetings as required for the purposes of media coverage, sharing best practise, partnership working or providing advice/presenting to a group.
Undertake market research/analysis as required and evaluating the effectiveness of past promotional activities.
Support the development of a Social Services and Wellbeing newsletter and drafting internal and stakeholder communications.
Identify, pursue, and implement opportunities for marketing the Directorate’s Children’s and Adult Social Services locally and to the wider audience including the Welsh Government and other bodies that function at a regional and national level. This includes supporting the council’s various partnership projects from a marketing/communications perspective that operate on a regional level, e.g., Foster Wales and WeCare Wales.
Ensure postholder’s marketing and communication activities work in line with brand guidelines, procurement contracts, equalities agenda e.g., accessibility requirements, and Welsh language commitments. Act as an ambassador of these policies to the wider council.
Liaise with a wide variety of internal and external contacts to meet the requirements of the post. Examples include managers, elected members, designers, printers, citizens’, businesses, and partners etc.
