Join Our Team as a Spanish & French Language Teacher!
JLH Languages is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Spanish and French teacher to lead our unique, immersive restaurant experiences for students aged 11-16. If you're passionate about making language learning fun and memorable, we want to hear from you.
We are seeking a Principal Teacher to guide students through the experience and a Supporting Teacher to assist with the activities.
About the Role
Your main goal will be to create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere where students feel comfortable speaking Spanish. Our immersive experiences take place at The Olive Grove in Hednesford, near Cannock (WS12 2DN) as well as at local schools. You'll be responsible for introducing vocabulary, facilitating fun activities, and encouraging students to use their new skills in a real-world setting.
All lesson plans and resources are provided, so there is no preparation or marking required.
What You'll Do
* Greet students and set the stage for an immersive language experience.
* Introduce vocabulary for menu items and table settings through engaging games and activities.
* Encourage students to speak only in Spanish throughout the event.
* Take orders and serve food, using the target language at all times.
* Lead fun, interactive activities to boost students' confidence and fluency.
* Adapt activities for different ability levels, including engaging role-play for GCSE students.
* Celebrate students' efforts, award them with certificates, and make the experience unforgettable.
Working Hours & Pay
* Principal Teacher: £40 per hour
* Supporting Teacher (Waiter/Waitress Role): £25 per hour
This is a part-time role (typically involving 5-8 hours per month but these hours may increase.) We aim to give you at least one month's notice for all bookings. A typical breakfast event runs from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., but we also have 2.5-hour lunch options and mobile school visits.
Essential Qualities
* A qualified Spanish and/or French teacher with experience teaching students aged 11-16.
* Exceptional reliability and a strong work ethic.
* The ability to communicate your enthusiasm for Spanish and French language and culture.
* A fun-loving attitude and a great sense of humour.
* Physical fitness for serving food and drinks.
Please note: This role would be an excellent fit for someone living within 30 minutes of Hednesford (WS12 2DN) due to the nature of the work.
