Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company to recruit a Project Engineer for their Energy from Waste Power Stations in Avonmouth and Cardiff. The main purpose of the role is to deliver engineering changes to increase the plants’ maximum continuous rating.
This is a 3‑year fixed‑term contract with a salary of up to c.£75,000, a car allowance, bonus, private healthcare and other benefits. Future opportunities may exist in the wider business.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Increase the maximum continuous rating of the two ERF facilities.
* Work closely with OEMs, contractors, site teams and central engineering to develop technical solutions.
* Integrate projects into outages.
* Manage contractor performance.
* Ensure all works comply with safety, quality and compliance standards.
* Attend HAZOP reviews and FATs/SATs, which may involve international travel.
Professional Qualifications
* Ideally HNC (or equivalent) qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Project management qualification desirable.
* IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification desirable.
* Full UK driving licence (travel to other sites required).
Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge
* Prior engineering/maintenance knowledge in heavy process engineering environments, preferably power (paper mills, steel works, cement, refineries, etc.).
* Good understanding of PSSR legislation.
* Experience in project management practices.
* Experience managing contractors and delivering complex engineering projects.
* Knowledge of CMMS systems.
* ISO 55001 awareness ideal.
