Senior Sous Chef - independent 5* hotel - Darlington Great salary Tips Free parking hotel discounts on site gym 48 hour contract Live in available MUST have experience of minimum 2 AA Rosette level 5* hotel and estate with high quality food, therefore seeking a Senior Sous Chef who has experience at 2 AA Rosette level or higher. You will be an experiened Senior Sous Chef or similar, with a passion for delivering great food, cooked and served to precision. Knowledge of sustainability and local, seasonal produce is important. If you have pre-opening restaurant experience, this will also be an advantage. In your role as Senior Sous Chef, your main responsibilities of the role will be (but not limited to): Responsible for the management of the kitchen operation with accountability for the food P & L profitability To achieve gross profit targets set within the kitchen, through stock takes, portion control, product costing and wastage measures To lead and direct a team of chefs to ensure all food is cooked and presented to a high-quality standard and ensure that their allocated sections operate in a safe, hygienic and efficient manner. Be able to liaise with recommended suppliers as required to ensure a good food product and price Able to develop new menu ideas and implement them with descriptions and recipes Take part in the recruitment and selection process of new team members when appropriate, ensuring they receive an in-depth departmental induction Deliver cook offs, training and information specification sheets for new menu items for the Kitchen and Front of House team The ideal candidate will experience working as an Senior Sous Chef in a high standard hotel environment and will have a passion for driving the team forward. If you are only Junior Sous Chef level, there might also be an opportunity. Salary will be paid based on experience.
