Role: Legal Assistant - Property Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid CRA Consulting is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, award-winning law firm with a strong regional presence and an excellent reputation as an employer. Founded in the early 1990s, the firm has grown significantly and now operates across multiple offices with several hundred employees. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy Residential Conveyancing team. This is a key support role, working closely with Conveyancers to ensure property transactions progress smoothly and clients are kept informed at every stage. The role is primarily office-based, with the possibility of occasional remote working where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting fee-earners with a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion
* Preparing and issuing initial client care documentation promptly
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and mortgage lenders throughout the transaction process
* Carrying out property searches and assisting with client onboarding procedures
* Providing administrative support, including file management and data entry
* Proactively monitoring file progression and following up on outstanding matters
* Ensuring all files are maintained in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
* Delivering a high standard of client service through clear communication and regular updates
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a conveyancing or similar legal support role (essential)
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines under pressure
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident IT skills, ideally with experience using legal case management systems
* A professional, friendly, and approachable manner with a strong client-focused approach
