About the role
Our team is looking for an Away From Home Insight Analyst who is passionate about research and the food and drink industry. This new role supports IGD’s growing AFH insight offerings.
You should be inquisitive, interested in AFH, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You'll have opportunities to develop your voice and share insights that help our clients grow.
This position is part of our AFH insight team, focusing on research and forecasting for businesses in food, drink, retail, and AFH sectors both in the UK and globally. You will leverage our extensive industry relationships to understand what impacts these sectors firsthand. Collaboration with our broader research teams will also be a key aspect of your role.
The responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Away From Home Insight, your main duties include:
1. Producing best-in-class insight: Identifying industry trends, innovations, and growth opportunities through various sources, including market visits, industry contacts, primary and desk research, and delivering reports, articles, and presentations for our platforms.
2. Supporting primary research: Engaging with AFH operators, manufacturers, trade bodies, and research partners via calls, meetings, and visits. Supporting qualitative and quantitative research projects and providing insights in client presentations and webinars.
3. Data & forecasting support: Maintaining and updating AFH datasets, forecasting key metrics, and providing insights to inform client decision-making.
4. Personal development: Actively seeking growth opportunities, expanding your network, and continuously improving research quality through feedback and learning.
What you bring
* Interest or experience in the UK AFH market
* Strong writing skills for online content, reports, and presentations
* Experience with Excel data analysis (preferred)
* Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word for insights and reporting
* Ability to present information effectively, virtually or in person
* Knowledge of research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative)
* Self-management skills for workload planning
* Teamwork, high standards, deadline orientation
* Adaptability and positive attitude towards change
* Curiosity, creativity, and a drive for continuous improvement
