As a Part-Time Professor, you will develop and deliver curriculum using various engaging and innovative methods, playing a pivotal role in enhancing academic excellence through sound teaching practice.
The School Of Trades & Apprenticeships Is Currently Seeking Qualified Professionals To Teach Courses Part-time Starting August 2025 In The Following Programs
* Electrical Engineering Technician – Industrial diploma
* Electrical Techniques certificate
* Electrician 309A Construction and Maintenance apprenticeship
* Electrician 442A Industrial apprenticeship
We are currently seeking individuals who could teach a variety of subjects, including electronics, instrumentation, motors, installation methods, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), transformers, prints, code, and theory.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus at Conestoga’s Skilled Trades Campus, located at 25 Reuter Drive in Cambridge. Conestoga offers classes Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Shop classes are entirely in person, whereas theory classes may be a combination of both in-person and in some cases, online.
You will be provided with orientation, course material and support. Conestoga Teaching & Learning department delivers workshops and supports your professional development.

Responsibilities
* Ensure program and course curriculum are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices in the field
* Design appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and evaluating student progress and achievement
* Carry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including classroom, shop, online and computer-assisted lab lessons
* Ensure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systems
* Evaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of student work within the assigned course, and maintain records as required
* Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system
* Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles
* Work in a collaborative, collegial manner both within the department and across the college
Qualifications
* A certificate of qualification in an electrical trade is required; a certificate of apprenticeship is preferred
* Minimum of five years of related industry experience
* Previous adult or post-secondary teaching experience is considered an asset
* Experience with curriculum development is an asset
* Experience with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g., D2L) is preferred
* Demonstrated exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an academic team
* Demonstrated ability to relate to learners and provide a positive learning environment to students working at different skill levels, including international students and students requiring accommodation, is an asset
* Strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Strong relationships with industry contacts and network connections are considered an asset
