Would you like to join our friendly midwifery team in East London? This role offers an exciting opportunity to extend your IT skills within a midwifery setting. We are seeking an informatics specialist midwife to lead on informatics within the maternity department at Whipps Cross Hospital and support the broader Barts Health Informatics strategy.
Responsibilities
* Co‑ordinate and lead the digital strategy for maternity at Whipps Cross.
* Provide IT support and training to maternity staff.
* Ensure accuracy of data within the service and prepare maternity dashboards.
* Produce monthly key performance indicator reports for dissemination and data quality assurance.
* Support the implementation of new informatics systems.
* Work closely with other maternity units, the informatics team and site counterparts.
Person Specification
Essential
* Registered Midwife.
* Educated to degree level.
* Knowledge and experience of working with databases, data analysis and coding.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective written and oral communication skills, including empathy when speaking to patients.
* Enthusiastic, approachable and friendly manner.
* Ability to reflect, identify learning needs and participate in agreed learning activities.
Desirable
* Teaching in Clinical Practice experience.
* IT qualification.
* Master’s degree or working towards one.
