Library Apprentice
Chorley Library | Lancashire | £12.21 per hour | Temporary 2‑year post | 37 hours per week | Plus weekend enhancements

Role Overview
You will work as a Library Apprentice at Chorley Library. This temporary 2‑year role averages 37 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends, with a two‑week rota.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer‑focused, digitally savvy individual. This person will be welcoming, friendly, love reading and be passionate about sharing it. You will need excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with partners and volunteers, and deliver a customer focused service.
Responsibilities
You will support a team in delivering a high‑quality library and information service. Your duties include planning and delivering a diverse range of events and activities, encouraging customers to access online information and resources – e‑books, newspaper apps, or help with reliable information such as applying for a passport.
As an apprentice, you will gain in‑depth knowledge about library services and receive training and support to assist in providing an efficient and effective service. You will work towards gaining a work‑based qualification in Library, information and archive services assistant / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
Work may also involve visiting other locations and some lone working.
