Aqua Comms connects Continents, Cultures and Clouds across the globe – neutrally and independently delivering the connectivity, transport and optical needs for the content, internet and carrier marketplaces.
Aqua Comms constructs, acquires, manages and operates infrastructure that is at the very heart of today’s internet. Formed in 2014 to construct one of the first ‘new-era’ Atlantic cable systems, and following the acquisition of an Irish Sea cable, we delivered our first inter-continental services in 2016. We commenced our second cable development in 2018, AEC-2, this was followed by a third cable, AEC-3 due to go live 2023.
Having secured our position as a leading, innovative, carrier-neutral transport provider for the Atlantic, we have commenced our strategic global expansion via an investment in EMIC-1, Europe Middle East, Indian Connect.
We are looking for a Graduate NOC Engineer - Tier 1 to join our rapidly expanding international business.
The Graduate NOC Engineer - Tier 1 will form part of our NOC Team who will provide 24x7 Global Customer services &Technical Support services across Aqua Comms Subsea and international terrestrial networks. Real time monitoring and management of our services, sites, networks and facilities to ensure customer service SLA’s and targets are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Monitoring and management of all network and system alarms within the 365 day x 24 hour NOC team.
* Ensure Incident tickets are raised in a timely and professional manner and that they are managed effectively through to resolution.
* Carry out level 1 technical troubleshooting and diagnostics and provide efficient customer communications during live incident operations.
* Handle calls from customers, carriers and service suppliers to ensure effective 2 way communications takes place.
* Manage operational vendor and partner communications with our networks, services and systems suppliers.
* Monitor all site and environmental alarms across our Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and manage the suppliers to ensure all events are managed quickly and effectively.
* Help to document and enhance the processes, tools and systems which will deliver optimum operational experience for customers and suppliers. Identify areas for process and efficiency improvement.
* Continuous improvement operational performance ethos. Drive and deliver positive trends to reduce incident volumes, increase network availability, eradicate repeat incidents and decrease incident durations.
* KPI/SLA targets driving excellent service assurance.
* Travel and training will be required from time to time.
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Some customer service experience beneficial.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business and across all functions.
* Understanding of some technologies across Microsoft tools and applications (Word, Windows, EXCEL), Data Analytics, SW development, Technology Applications.
* University assignments or placements in a technology area a distinct advantage
