An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist / Ecology Consultant with 2 years' experience to join a well-established environmental consultancy.
This full-time role offers hybrid working options, a salary range of £32,000 - £40,000, and benefits.
As an Ecologist / Ecology Consultant, you will support various ecological projects, contribute to habitat and species assessments, and ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
You will be responsible for:
1. Supporting the execution of ecological surveys and mitigation planning.
2. Producing clear, accurate ecological reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and contributing to Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
3. Assisting with project delivery in collaboration with senior ecologists and other technical staff.
4. Providing ecological guidance to clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
5. Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients through professionalism and technical credibility.
What we are looking for:
1. Previous experience as an Ecologist, Senior Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor, or similar role.
2. At least 2 years' professional experience in ecological consultancy.
3. A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
4. Strong field skills in protected species and habitat surveys.
5. Membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
6. Excellent technical report writing skills following CIEEM guidelines.
7. Bat and/or GCN Natural England licences are preferred.
8. Valid UK driving licence.
