A warm, welcoming, and supportive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors and 1:1 SEND Support Staff to join their team. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with a range of needs, particularly those with SEND and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings, helping to build positive relationships, boost engagement, and support their learning and well-being.
* Providing tailored 1:1 support for students with SEND
* Supporting pupils with behaviour management and social development
* Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Helping students access learning and reach their full potential
* Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
* Experience working with children or young people in schools, alternative provisions, or residential care settings
* A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting behaviour and emotional needs
* A relevant degree-level qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
* Supportive and friendly school community
