TARCG is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client in the aerospace sector for the position of B1 Licensed Engineer based at their Birmingham site.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for an experienced and type-rated B1 engineer with structural expertise to step into a high-impact leadership role supporting a major modification and production programme.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Production, you will work closely with the Lead Structures Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to oversee a skilled team of mechanical and structural technicians. You will be a central figure in maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and safety of all mechanical and structural work carried out on Boeing aircraft, ensuring that high standards of compliance and productivity are consistently met.
This hands-on leadership position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is ready to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed inspections in line with Boeing Aircraft Corporation specifications (IAW BAC)
* Ensure team understanding and application of RA-4807 and RA-4806 procedures
* Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documents
* Track and monitor task card hours for structures and mechanical activities
* Identify and analyse variances between planned and actual task completion times
* Escalate discrepancies and risks to the appropriate stakeholders
* Recommend and support process improvement initiatives
* Assist in mechanical system testing, validation, and fault-finding
* Mentor and support junior personnel in the structures and mechanical teams
Skills & Experience Required:
* CAA/EASA Part 66 B1 License (Essential)
* Type-rated on Boeing 737NG (Essential)
* A minimum of 10 years’ aircraft experience, preferably in heavy maintenance or modification programmes
* Strong inspection and certification background in structural and mechanical systems
* Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and modification processes
* Proven leadership, mentoring, and coordination experience
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Proficiency with MS Office applications
* Eligible to live and work in the UK
* Able to pass UK security vetting procedures
Part-145 Training Requirements:
Applicants should hold (or be prepared to complete) the following mandatory training:
* Human Factors (initial and continuation)
* SFAR Phase 1 & 2 (initial and continuation)
* EWIS Group 1 & 2 (initial and continuation)
* ETOPS
* RVSM
