Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for Maintenance Technician, to join an established FMCG business located near Leicester. As a Maintenance Technician you will provide effective electrical and/or mechanical services to the factory equipment. You will ensure that fault diagnosis and breakdown on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, and electrical systems are carried out in an efficient manner to minimise downtime. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Technician: Carry out preventative maintenance works on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, cookers and electrical systems, including electrical cabling and wiring to control equipment in accordance with established schedules Carry out miscellaneous work of an electrical/mechanical nature as detailed in the Quality Management systems document Conduct repairs/replacements on equipment Responsible for the removal and installation of pumps and motors Carry out electrical isolations on production equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures Monitor and adjust process equipment to optimise its performance in accordance with production requirements and quality assurance standards Carry out minor modifications to process equipment as directed and assist in installing new equipment as appropriate Identify spare parts, equipment and materials required to minimise downtime Ensure all the tasks undertaken are recorded on the engineering maintenance system Complete other duties as and when required ensuring that the company meets its objectives Supervision and management of contractors when requiredPerson Specification Maintenance Technician: Experience of working in a similar role ideally in an FMCG environment Desirable 18th Edition Wiring Regulations The ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings on new machinery to assist in commissioning NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Qualification Experience of completing basic electrical requirements Experience of working in confined spaces or working at height are desirable but not essential Good mechanical skills To be representative of the company's high standards always and to conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to react positively as areas of concern affect the performance of the factory Approach tasks with a can-do attitude and has the ability to think of creative solutions to problems Have good attention to detail and a passion for the job Must be able to work well in a team Able to overcome issues in the workplace in a professional manner Always conduct yourself in a responsible and courteous manner Flexibility to cover as and when required Adopt a continuous improvement mentality Be forward-thinking with ways to better the business and processes surrounding itWhat in for you as a Maintenance Technician: Base Salary Circa £45,000 doe Working hours Sunday - Thursday, rotational 6am-2pm/2pm -10am Major Recruitment act as an Employment Agency for permanent roles and an Employment Business for temporary opportunities
