Working across both responsive repairs and voids, you will play a key role in ensuring properties remain compliant, fit for purpose, and ready for occupation. The Role This is a varied, site-based position where you will take ownership of inspections, technical advice, and contractor management. Responsibilities will include: Conducting property inspections, including disrepair cases, damp and mould assessments, customer concerns, and stock condition surveys Diagnosing building defects and providing technical guidance to colleagues and residents Monitoring contractor performance, auditing works, validating invoices, and ensuring delivery meets required standards, timescales, and budgets Maintaining accurate records and updating asset management systems with clear reporting Inspecting fire safety remedial works and new build defects to ensure compliance and quality Supporting operations across a wider geographical patch when required Handling customer queries and working collaboratively with internal teams Participating in an out-of-hours rota for telephone support Contributing positively to a customer-focused, high-performing repairs service About You The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach. You will ideally demonstrate: Sound knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and housing maintenance Experience with stock condition surveys, fire risk assessments, and asbestos reinspection processes Understanding of responsive repairs, voids, and planned works within a housing environment Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and wider housing regulations Experience working within occupied properties and dealing directly with customers Confidence in managing contractors, reviewing works, and ensuring compliance Familiarity with relevant building regulations (including Parts A, L, M and P) Awareness of disrepair processes, party wall matters, and asset management principles Strong IT capability, including Microsoft Office A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel The Organisation Our client is a respected housing provider operating across the South East, managing a large and diverse portfolio of homes.
