Job Title: Tax Manager – EMEA Controversy (Contractor)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid Working)
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Controversy team on a contract basis. This role focuses on managing tax controversy matters across the EMEA region, including transfer pricing disputes, Advanced Pricing Agreements (APA), Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP), and litigation related to corporate income tax and VAT.
This is a dynamic opportunity for a tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable navigating complex international tax issues. The successful candidate will be instrumental in resolving high-impact tax disputes and collaborating across global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support tax controversy matters across EMEA, including audits, APAs, MAPs, and litigation.
2. Collaborate with internal tax, transfer pricing, accounting, and legal teams to gather and present information to tax authorities.
3. Engage with external advisors and government officials to manage and resolve disputes.
4. Coordinate with global tax teams on cross-border issues and treaty-related matters.
5. Provide strategic input on tax positions and risk management.
6. Travel internationally as required to support tax controversy engagements.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
7. Strong background in tax controversy, dispute resolution, and transfer pricing.
8. Experience with APA and MAP processes.
9. Familiarity with corporate income tax and VAT issues in an international context.
10. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
11. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
12. Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with flexible hours, especially during peak collaboration times with US-based teams.
