Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Support and Policy Development: Act as a knowledgeable clinical nurse specialist, supporting staff, the Neuro Oncology Service, and policy development within the specialty.
2. Clinic Development and Advanced Skills: Develop nurse-led clinics and undertake highly specialised technical and practical skills, including advanced health assessments and non-medical prescribing, to ensure optimal patient management.
3. Holistic Patient Care: Ensure that patients' holistic needs are considered in decision-making processes.
4. Resource and Policy Advice: Serve as a resource for staff, advising on national, local, and Trust policies and procedures/guidelines, and ensuring clinical governance is embedded in practice.
5. Issue Resolution and Auditing: Identify and assess complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implement resolutions, monitor and audit outcomes, and support the Band 6 Neuro Oncology nurse with rehabilitation plans for service users.
6. Education and Training: Provide education and training for identified staff groups within defined areas, ensuring evidence-based care is embedded into practice.
7. IT Systems Utilisation: Utilise IT systems effectively to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce, and resource data.
