Financial Accountant

We are currently recruiting exclusively for an experienced finance and accounting manager for this interesting not for profit organisation – as the Financial Accountant/Finance Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and all accounting activities across the organisation
Reporting to the Finance Director, this Finance Manager role will be hands on and a varied role, the main responsibilities will include:
* Maintain and reconcile all the transactional accounting activities, including purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations and sales invoices
* Maintain and reconcile the petty cash and staff expense processing including personal and company credit card transactions
* Prepare and submit monthly payroll instructions to the bureau, post payroll journals and reconcile salary control accounts
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and reconcile control accounts
* Fixed Assets - maintain the fixed asset register and reconcile fixed asset balances to the nominal ledger
* Prepare quarterly accruals and prepayments and post journals, complete year‑end routines and post‑audit adjustments
* Produce financial analysis for income streams and assist with preparation of quarterly management accounts
Requirements for this role:
* An experienced and/or part- qualified accountant with significant experience
* Strong finance accounting and transactional finance experience
* Proven experience preparing reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
* Experience in supporting VAT returns and payroll processing
* A reliable and confident self-starter with experience in a ‘hands-on’ Finance role
* A strong communicator who is confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders
