Family Intervention Worker – Children With Disabilities
Full time (37 hours per week) based at County Hall, Taunton with flexible working arrangements and working from home where appropriate. 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Salary £28,598–£32,061 per annum. The role involves intense, individual work with children who are disabled (Level 3 needs) and their families.
Responsibilities
* Be part of an ambitious multi‑agency team, working alongside statutory and non‑statutory partner agencies to ensure improved and sustainable outcomes for children and young people with disabilities.
* Hold cases, carry out assessments, set up service provisions, and offer ongoing advice and support such as parenting and behaviour support as required by the young person and their family.
* Carry out reviews of services in place to ensure the service and support continues to meet the young person’s needs.
* Undertake specialist training as required and contribute to team learning and training for partner agencies.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of working with or knowledge of Children/Young People with Disabilities.
* Understanding of the skills required to engage, assess and plan to support the needs of children, young people and their families.
* Experience in multi‑agency working to safeguard children and young people.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as work autonomously.
* Organisational skills to manage a case load and ensure that assessments, reviews and plans are completed within timescales.
* Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a broad range of IT skills with a minimum of GCSE Grade C (level 4) in Maths and English.

Additional Information
Salary range £28,298–£32,061 per annum for a 37‑hour week. Must be able and willing to travel countywide, including outside standard work hours and to areas not currently serviced by public transport.
Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday 2nd or Wednesday 3rd December 2025 at County Hall, Taunton, Somerset, TA14DY.
