B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer (Part 66 B1) – London City Airport
We are seeking a skilled B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join our client's line maintenance team at London City Airport. This is a unique opportunity to work on a modern Embraer fleet in a fast-paced, high-frequency airport environment.
Key Details:
* Shift Pattern: 5 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off, 4 on, 5 off
* Shift Times: 12-hour shifts (05:30–17:30 and 17:30–05:30), covering both days and nights
* Traffic-Friendly: Shifts designed to avoid peak London rush hour and coincide with times when toll roads are free
* Team Structure: 6 engineers per shift
Salary & Benefits:
* Basic Pay: £77,413 (from 01 October 2025)
* Shift Pay: £7,500 (from 01 October 2025)
* Sign-On Bonus: £3,000
* Private Medical Insurance (PMI) newly introduced
* Type Training: CAA B1 licence holders on any aircraft type will be supported through a type rating course (bonded for 2 years, valued £7,000–£10,000)
* Overtime currently paid at double rate (days & nights)

Role Purpose:
To carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and defect rectification on company aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct line maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled tasks, and defect rectification
* Deputise for Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor as required
* Maintain compliance with CAA/EASA regulations, company procedures, and Safety Management Systems
* Support AOG and recovery operations across the network
* Mentor apprentices and junior engineers
Requirements:
* UK CAA Part-66 Category B licence – unrestricted B1, B2, or B1/B2
* Current approval for relevant types (EASA & CAA)
* Valid full UK driving licence
* Ability to hold airport restricted zone and airside driving licences
* Experience with both scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance
* Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
* E190 type rating desirable (training can be provided)
