We’re working with a fantastic specialist school in Harlow that supports pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs. These students may have had difficult experiences with mainstream education—but with the right support, they begin to thrive.
We’re looking for a passionate and resilient SEND English Teacher to deliver engaging, accessible lessons and help students build not only their literacy skills, but their confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach English across KS3 and KS4, adapting lessons for students with SEND.
* Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
* Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
* Work closely with SEND staff and teaching assistants to support students.
* Support students’ academic and emotional development.
* Communicate regularly with parents and carers.
What we’re looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Recent experience teaching English, ideally with SEND students.
* Confident, inspiring teaching style with strong behaviour management skills.
* Good sense of humour and a positive approach to challenges.
* Strong understanding of SEND legislation, strategies, and inclusive practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patient, creative, and committed to meeting diverse learning needs through effective differentiation.
