Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join a central Data Management and Data Products team within a large, complex Corporate & Investment Banking and Technology environment. The team delivers high‑impact financial and operational data products—including budget, headcount, and performance insights—to a broad internal client base across technology and business functions. This is a highly customer‑facing, process‑driven Business Analyst role. You will focus on understanding stakeholder data needs, translating those needs into clear and actionable data requirements, and enabling business users to access and use data effectively. The role also supports the introduction of AI‑enabled and automated processes to improve scalability, efficiency, and data self‑service.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a Senior, customer‑facing Business Analyst working with stakeholders across Technology, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Operations.
* Engage stakeholders to understand and clarify complex and often ambiguous data requests, business questions, and reporting needs.
* Translate business requirements into clear, delivery‑ready data specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
* Educate stakeholders on available data products, appropriate usage, and known limitations.
* Support the design, enhancement, and delivery of financial and operational data products (e.g., budget, cost, headcount, operational metrics).
* Define and document business processes, data definitions, rules, lineage, and control points.
* Partner closely with data, technology, and product teams to ensure requirements are delivered accurately and efficiently.
* Support testing and UAT activities, ensuring data quality, usability, and alignment with business expectations.
* Contribute to initiatives focused on automation, AI‑enabled processes, and data self‑service.
* Help improve how users request, access, and interpret data at scale.
* Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency through process, data, and tooling improvements.
* Ensure strong data governance, auditability, and control standards are embedded within delivered solutions.
* Proactively identify data quality issues, risks, or ambiguities and work with delivery teams to resolve them.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
* Proven Experience as a Senior Business Analyst within large, complex organisations.
* Strong process‑led BA capability, including current‑state analysis, future‑state design, and requirements definition.
* Experience working with data platforms, data products, or enterprise reporting / MI solutions.
* Comfortable operating in environments with high stakeholder engagement and evolving requirements.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively.
Stakeholder & Delivery Skills
* Confident engaging directly with Senior stakeholders and internal customers.
* Experience facilitating workshops, refining requirements, and managing expectations.
* Collaborative working style with data, technology, and product delivery teams.
Desirable Experience
* Background in financial services, banking, or large‑scale technology environments.
* Exposure to AI‑driven automation, process improvement, or data enablement initiatives.
* Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and control frameworks.
