We are looking for a GP to work as part of a primary care and nurse-led clinical team providing direct patient care to the HMP Swansea patient population.
Experience of substance misuse and additional qualifications in mental health would be welcomed.
The role involves 1 day a week, including 2 in-person clinics at HMP Swansea, plus 08:00–18:30 on-call duties and additional remote weekend cover.
The post holder will provide direct patient care for routine and urgent presentations, including substance misuse, and offer health promotion and preventative advice. Management of long-term conditions according to national guidelines is also expected.
Initiating an MDT approach to ensure holistic patient care is part of the role. The position includes supporting clinical governance, management, quality improvement activities, and supervising, teaching, and training allied health professionals.
There is potential for the experienced candidate to lead on primary mental health assessments and prescribing, including ADHD.
