SPC oversees supervision, policy and competition; the Buy‑Side Directorate oversees asset management, funds, pensions and alternative investment firms to ensure integrity, fair value and a healthy, competitive market.
Role Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver robust, practical policy solutions using data and evidence so that decisions are fact‑based and deliver meaningful outcomes.
* Lead and manage complex policy projects, making sound judgments, prioritising tasks and balancing competing deadlines to deliver high‑impact initiatives.
* Identify and manage diverse stakeholders, build rapport and construct relationships in a collaborative, flexible manner to amplify results.
* Distil complex issues into clear, concise messages and present them confidently to varied audiences both orally and in writing.
* Collaborate with a supportive team, assisting colleagues to achieve shared goals and adapting to different situations to foster a culture of teamwork.
* Engage with standard‑setting bodies and regulatory institutions such as the Bank of England to shape policies that influence the wider financial landscape.
Minimum Skills Required
* Extensive policy experience (e.g., at a regulator, firm or other relevant organisation).
* Experience coordinating and delivering cross‑cutting projects.

* Outstanding organisational skills, proactively managing complex projects by planning, prioritising and balancing competing commitments.
* Sound judgment and an open‑minded approach.
* Strong stakeholder management, building rapport and relationships in a collaborative, flexible way.
