Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 physiotherapist working within the field of Amputee Rehabilitation. The post holder will be part of the leadership team, managing the physiotherapy service and work alongside a highly skilled and specialist multidisciplinary team. You will provide assessment and treatment to both new and established amputees at the Specialised Ability Centre. As one of the lead physiotherapists responsible for delivering amputee rehabilitation it is expected that you have experience of working with complex patients and have substantial prosthetic knowledge. You must be passionate about providing a high quality service for patients, have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and have experience of working both independently and as part of a team. The post will involve working with paediatrics in both the outpatient and community setting as part of a specialist MDT. You will be able to demonstrate involvement in service and team development, including supporting senior clinical leads as well as supervision of clinical staff and students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills, alongside using clinical specialty skills in physiotherapy Main duties of the job The successful applicant will have the skills to undertake, on a daily basis, a physiotherapy team leader role, alongside the Clinical Lead Specialist Physiotherapist in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the service provided to amputees and outpatients referred to the physiotherapy service.To carry an independent caseload of patients and deliver a high quality, comprehensive service at the Specialised Ability Centre, managing patients in an appropriate manner according to the area of specialty. The post holder must possess excellent clinical reasoning skills and be a calm but assertive communicator, who is able to negotiate a way forward in even the most challenging situations.
