National Account Manager

Ecotone Blackwater, England, United Kingdom

Ecotone is looking to recruit a National Account Manager – Wholesale/Convenience with the hunger to continue to develop, build and deliver the 3‑year strategic plan to meet our ambitions of double‑digit growth.

As National Account Manager you will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering the growth and profitability in these accounts. You will be solely accountable for developing the retail partnerships that will deliver sustained success while working cross‑functionally with all the teams who will help you achieve our stretch goals.


Account Planning & Account Development

* Lead and prioritise key development opportunities to maximise sales and profitability
* Lead, develop and implement a clear push/pull strategy, focusing strategic initiatives from end‑to‑end, unlocking significant distribution opportunities through centrally owned retail clubs (eg: Best One, Costcutter, Premier)
* Execute strategies and activation to deliver double‑digit growth
* Successfully launch NPD and drive the agenda on the key growth brands
* Define, deliver and execute effective promotional planning at a head office and regional level with plans defined for both wholesale and retail clubs
* Run effective activations across the Wholesale/Convenience Channels
* Responsible for driving contact strategy with 3rd party field sales agency/agent representing Ecotone brands in Cash and Carry depots


Selling / Negotiation

* Lead the business planning cycle and activate the key drivers of sales growth
* Negotiate annual group and retail terms, with all expenditure scheduled and accrued with finance
* Where applicable, liaise with the Category team using powerful insights to craft a narrative to engage, persuade and inspire
* Deliver Cost Price Increases throughout the year, on time, in full


Financial and Forecast Management

* P&L management, control and delivery
* Builds value for Ecotone with a comprehensive understanding of the end‑to‑end value chain and how that impacts the Ecotone & customer P&L in both the short & long term
* Responsible for working with Revenue Growth Management to propose and implement effective spending of channel trade TPR budget to meet sales goals and ROI criteria
* Responsible for timely and accurate sales forecasting (97%+ accuracy), monthly reporting and action plans to achieve annual targets (including competitor activity)


Account Management

* Develops customer relationships and understands customer strategy to align and be the respected partner of choice
* Understands customer operations and navigates successfully; using key levers of influence


Analytical / Market Insights

* Develops recommendations/actions regarding accounts, using data from multiple sources

We’re looking for someone who is an expert in the Wholesaler/Convenience Channels of Trade with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience at head office strategic‑level contact with major cash and carry accounts and proven track record of success. Additionally, you will:

* have a strong knowledge of account management with a proven ability to build strong retailer relationships
* be an effective communicator and proven experience of stakeholder management
* have sound product/supply chain knowledge
* have proven experience in data analysis and insights
