Finance Division We are seeking a ERP Technical Specialist to provide technical management and optimisation of the University's Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) Financials systems. This is a hands-on technical role contributing to the delivery of system enhancements, integrations and troubleshooting. About the Role As a Financial Systems Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in managing and optimising the University’s Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) Financials systems. You’ll work across a diverse landscape that includes SAP Concur eExpenses, IBM TM1 Cognos, and multiple integrated systems, ensuring our financial applications are efficient, reliable, and well-documented. This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll deliver system enhancements, integrations, and troubleshooting in collaboration with colleagues across the Finance Division, IT Services, and external partners. Your expertise will help maintain the stability and security of our systems while supporting continuous improvement in how the University manages its finances. Reporting to the Financial Systems Functional Architect within the Financial Processes, Systems and Assurance (FPSA) team, you’ll work closely with subject matter experts across Finance and IT. Together, you’ll deliver robust, scalable technical solutions that underpin the University’s financial operations and strategic priorities. About You • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle R12 EBS modules, specifically within the Financials suite (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Projects, Cash Management, and Procurement modules). • Experience of designing, documenting and delivering CEMLIs for Oracle R12 EBS implementations • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Reports, and Oracle Application Framework (OAF); experience with Oracle Workflow, BI Publisher, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), SSIS and other system integration and system management tools is desirable. • Solid understanding of financial system integrations, particularly with other enterprise systems (e.g. HR, payroll, procurement, student records, data warehouses and FP&A solutions). • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner. • Experience contributing to technical project delivery, working with project managers and stakeholders. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. • Excellent all-round understanding of how to approach the design, build and testing of application improvements and integrations. Desirable criteria • Experience in higher education or other not-for-profit financial environments • Exposure to working with third-party vendors and service partners. • Awareness of digital transformation and technology adoption in finance systems. • Experience supporting organisations through system or process change.
