Quantity Surveyor
We are working with a family-owned organisation within the structural steelwork sector seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a full-time permanent basis to join its team. Based in Herefordshire operating across major UK projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget. This role will play a key part in managing project costs, protecting margins, and supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects.

What You Will Be Doing
•Managing all project-related costs to ensure value for money and margin protection
•Supporting contract administration, procurement, and subcontract management
•Preparing and submitting applications for payment in a timely manner
•Monitoring project cashflow through stage payment scheduling
•Producing construction cost analysis and tracking subcontract packages
•Attending pre-start meetings and reviewing subcontract packages and contract documentation
•Participating in internal and client design team meetings, advising on cost implications
•Liaising with Project Lead Engineers to develop construction and procurement programmes
•Negotiating variations prior to final project incorporation
•Managing interim valuations and agreeing final accounts with clients
•Attending site, client, and project meetings as required
•Supporting wider business needs through additional duties when required
What We Are Looking For
•Previous experience within the construction industry, ideally with structural steelwork exposure
•HNC in Surveying, Construction, or equivalent (desirable)
•Strong commercial awareness with solid budget management understanding
•Experience with NEC and JCT contract forms
•Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel
•Ability to analyse detailed construction and cost information
•Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
•High attention to detail with a methodical approach
•Motivated, reliable, and able to deliver work to a high standard
