About The Role
* Role: Environmental Health Officer
* Location: Hybrid, Chorley
* Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Fixed Term Contract (24 months)
* Salary: £45,091 - £46,142

Chorley Council are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our dedicated team. As a small district team, you will have the unique opportunity to work across all key pillars of Environmental Health including but not limited to Housing Standards, Environmental Protection, Food Safety and Health and Safety.
What you’ll be getting up to
* Carry out a range of programmed and reactive inspections and inventions
* Enforcement of legislation through informal, formal and enforcement actions
* Provide advice and support to businesses and the general public
* Contribute to proactive projects in support of local priorities and national incentives
* Represent the local authority in various multi-agency forums
Who we’re looking for
* We are looking for a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a minimum of two years’ experience in a local government regulatory role. The applicant will need to demonstrate skills, knowledge and expertise across a minimum of two key environmental health fields, preferably housing standards and environmental protection although not essential.
Other requirements
* This role requires some travel around our borough. You should have a valid driving license or the equivalent mobility.
* Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
