Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as the Grounds maintenance operative. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds of our hotel as well as overseeing the well-being of adjacent woodlands. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintaining pristine outdoor spaces and a commitment to preserving the natural beauty of woodlands.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Grounds Maintenance:
Perform regular landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering, to enhance the overall appearance of the hotel's exterior.
Maintain cleanliness by regularly picking up litter and debris from the grounds.
Collaborate with the hotel management to plan and implement seasonal landscaping projects.
Ensure that outdoor amenities such as seating areas, pathways, and decorative features are well-kept and in good condition.
Woodlands Care:
Conduct regular inspections of the woodlands to assess the health of trees, plants, and wildlife.
Implement conservation and preservation practices to protect the natural ecosystem of the woodlands.
Clear debris, fallen branches, and invasive plants to maintain a safe and clean woodland environment.
Trail Maintenance:
Establish and maintain walking trails within the woodlands for guests' enjoyment.
Ensure trails are well-marked, safe, and free of obstacles.
Regularly inspect and repair trail infrastructure, such as bridges and walkways.
Equipment Care:
Properly maintain and store all equipment used in grounds and woodlands maintenance.
Report any equipment malfunctions or the need for repairs to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience in groundskeeping and landscaping.
Knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and woodland conservation practices.
Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
Strong communication skills.
