Our very effective and supportive Governing body are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and caring Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our school team from September (expected to be based in Y2/3). We are looking for a conscientious and committed professional that believes all children can achieve high standards and therefore demonstrates consistently high expectations of all pupils in all aspects of school life.
The contract will begin on 01 September 2024 but the first working day is Wednesday 04 September 2024. Working hours will be 8:30am - 3:30pm every day except Wednesday when the finish time is 4:30pm to attend the KS meeting with a 1 hour lunch break. As we are so close to the Nottinghamshire border, candidates need to be aware that holidays for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire sometimes differ quite significantly so you may need to consider this if you have children attending Nottinghamshire schools.
Duties will include general classroom support for all pupils, facilitating class teaching as well as individual and small group interventions for pupils requiring additional help, including working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in close partnership with the Class Teacher. This post is expected to be based in Y2/Y3 so it’s essential that candidates have a thorough understanding of both the KS1 and lower KS2 curriculum, expectations and best practice. Please see the person specification for the full requirements of the post.
