Job summary
This is a Bank Night Senior Care Assistant role at the Victory Care Home in Chatham, Kent. Main duties of the job
As a Bank Night Senior Care Assistant at the Victory Care Home, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents. What is required from you?
* A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
* As this is a bank role you must have the flexibility to work day and weekend shifts as and when required
* Shift patten from 8pm to 8am to include alternative weekends
* Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and achieved or working towards NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
* At least two years' experience working in a social care environment - preferably with vulnerable people over 65
* Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia
* Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your care
A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant
* Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence
* Review -You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
* Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
* Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
* Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available.
