Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist with an interest in Asthma to join a dynamic, evolving Respiratory Service in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We are a dynamic team that strive to fulfil the ethos of the Health Board to provide safe high quality care, with the aim of providing that care closer to home. The respiratory team strive to provide a supportive environment through a framework of values and behaviours, where there are opportunities to develop and consolidate new skills.
You will be required to work across sites including Nevill Hall, St Woolos and GUH.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work alongside a team of specialist Nurses, Consultant Nurse, Respiratory Physicians and other members of the wider multidisciplinary team to provide care for those patients requiring respiratory input, with an interest in Asthma. The post holder will hold the responsibility and accountability to support a case load of patients that require long term treatment for Respiratory conditions such as asthma. The post requires autonomous working and case management with the guidance and support of CNS's, Consultant Nurses. The successful candidate will be expected to work across the health board to support the Respiratory services providing the link between community and secondary care. They will provide timely care and management for admission avoidance. Additionally there will be a need to provide specialist input and advice where needed, within a hospital environment supporting patients through their journey from Hospital to Home.
The desired candidate will have a passion for safe, high quality service delivery and service improvement, putting the patient at the forefront of care delivery.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
