Senior Estimator
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a well-known Tier 1 contractor working within the Work Winning Team within the Civils and Infrastructure sector.
The company is a reputable Tier 1 contractor operating nationwide throughout the UK with multiple regional offices. As a Senior Estimator, you will join an award-winning business that is part of the Work Winning team involved in civil engineering projects based in the Wiltshire region.

Key responsibilities for this Senior Estimator role:
* Ensure company governance procedures are followed at all times
* Work with the Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing
* Agree methodologies and outputs for key activities with planners and, where appropriate, with Bid/Design Managers
* Provide advice on cost-effective design options
* Price alternative design solutions
* Procedure competitive pricing using appropriate methodologies
* Assist Bid Manager with client bill of quantities and activity schedules
* Prepare price estimates for tenders including labour and plant costs
* Coordinate with planners on resource levels
* Collaborate with procurement and bid teams to select subcontractors
* Review subcontractor quotations for compliance and accuracy
* Prepare comparison sheets for subcontractor quotes
* Agree on costs for temporary works
* Set staffing levels and procedures with Bid Manager and Operations Lead
* Determine shift patterns and overtime rates in compliance with regulations
* Coordinate with Planner on project duration estimates
* Work with Bid Manager to ensure client requirements are included
* Input into tender risk and opportunity registers
* Finalize and submit tender documentation
* Prepare settlement and adjustment sheets post-tender
* Ensure pricing maintains positive cash flow
* Address post-tender clarifications and amendments
* Prepare handover pricing documents for successful bids
* Participate in handover meetings
* Review feedback on unsuccessful bids for future improvement
Experience required:
* Knowledge of civil engineering and construction techniques
* Understanding of procurement legislation
* Commercial awareness of contract types
* Familiarity with company governance and procedures for work winning
* Proficiency in estimating software packages
Package offered:
- Basic salary up to £85,000 depending on experience
- Plus package
