Job overview Would you like to be part of a highly motivated and friendly Maternity team serving Bath, North East Somerset and West Wiltshire? We are dedicated to delivering high‑quality, woman‑centred care, and we continue to strengthen continuity for the families we support. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, our maternity service includes an acute unit, two standalone birth centres, two community midwifery‑led units, and a 24‑hour Maternity Assessment Unit. We are also developing plans for an alongside midwifery unit at the RUH. This is an exciting time to join us as we transform our service to ensure all women have access to the optimal birth environment based on their choices. We are now seeking a forward‑thinking, motivated Band 7 Midwife to provide leadership within our Antenatal Outpatient Clinic for a 12‑month maternity leave cover. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about woman‑centred care, confident in leading others, and skilled in offering first‑line managerial support. If you are a highly experienced midwife who leads by example and is committed to empowering both staff and families, we would love to hear from you. Being a Midwife Sonographer is desirable, but not essential. You will join a well‑established and supportive Outpatient Midwifery Team, which includes the Antenatal Clinic and Midwife Sonography service. Advert You will play a key role in developing and delivering strategies that improve the health and wellbeing of women, babies and families, aligned with the national Public Health agenda. You will ensure high standards of clinical care through the effective use of resources, strong partnership working with other agencies, and by supporting, supervising and teaching staff and students to maintain excellent professional practice. A key part of the role will be contributing to the implementation of national priorities and recommendations, including the Three‑Year Delivery Plan for Maternity and Neonatal Services, helping to drive meaningful improvements across the service. You will also be responsible for leading and managing the Birth Options Clinic, ensuring families receive personalised, evidence‑based information to support informed decision‑making. Family Experience Responsibilities Collect, analyse and interpret feedback from families to identify themes and areas for improvement. Produce clear reports and share learning, themes and action plans to support quality improvement and enhance the overall family experience.
