Production Supervisor
We are looking for a proven Production Supervisor with an Assembly / Mechanical Engineering background. Responsibilities include welding, shot blasting, CNC machining, painting and assembly of mechanical products. As a line manager you will allocate jobs and improve processes, leading a team of 10 on a day shift (07:30‑5:00 Mon‑Thu, 07:30‑14:30 Fri) at a growing engineering manufacturing business in the Bourne area.
Location
This workshop supervisor role is based near Bourne, Stamford, Peterborough, Sleaford and surrounding areas.
Salary & Working Hours
c£35,000 to £40,000 as a guide. 07:30-5:00 Mon-Thu, 07:30-14:30 Fri + 25 days paid holiday + banks.
Key Qualifications
* Hands‑on experience with mechanical fitting / assembly.
* Team leadership experience in a similar role within engineering.
* Specific experience within the agricultural sector would be a bonus, but not essential.
* Continuous improvement mindset.
* Good understanding of production processes and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Excellent IT skills and experience with ERP systems (Syspro is a strong advantage).
* Proven data analysis, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Line Manager for shopfloor employees, delegating and monitoring tasks to deliver the production plan.
* Lead and motivate the team to achieve efficiency, quality, and delivery targets.
* Promote and enforce health and safety procedures.
* Troubleshoot shopfloor issues quickly and effectively.
* Ensure shopfloor facilities and equipment are well maintained.
* Prepare monthly working hours reports for payroll.
* Accurately enter completed jobs into the company's ERP system.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
