Part-Time SHEQ Officer (Construction / Electrical Contractor)
Location: Bristol/Hybrid • Hours: Part-time (2-3 days per week / 15-20 hours)
Sector: Construction / Electrical Contracting • Salary: Competitive, based on experience
We are a leading electrical contractor working across commercial, residential and industrial construction projects. We’re looking for a Part-Time SHEQ Officer to support and oversee all aspects of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance across our business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in construction safety who is confident working independently and wants to make a real difference to SHEQ performance and culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with H&S, environmental and quality standards
* Preparing and reviewing RAMS, COSHH assessments, site inductions, and toolbox talks
* Investigating any incidents or near-misses and supporting corrective action
* Maintaining and improving SHEQ systems and documentation
* Supporting our accreditations (Constructionline, Safe Contractor)
* Advising site teams, supervisors and management on SHEQ matters
* Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and construction best practice
What We’re Looking For
* NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* SHEQ experience in construction, ideally with electrical contracting or M&E background
* Knowledge of CDM regulations, site H&S, and industry standards
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Practical, hands-on mindset and able to manage your own time
* Ability to travel to sites across Bristol and the South West
Nice to Have
* Internal auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
* Experience with Constructionline / Safe Contractor
* Environmental training or similar qualification
* Familiarity with SHEQ software systems
