Our Client, Boccard, a global industrial turnkey constructor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of innovative industrial plants across various sectors (Oil & Gas, nuclear, FMCG, pharma etc) are currently looking for a Project Quality Manager experienced in nuclear for a 6‑month contract, with the possibility to be extended or become a permanent employee. Three days per week are required at Boccard’s Bristol office.
The role will be based at Bristol and will support the UK piping supports project initially at Boccard’s manufacturing site in Broughton, Hinckley Point C, and customer sites to ensure project quality standards are set and exceeded.
Responsibilities
* Developing, reviewing and maintaining project processes for the successful implementation and completion of the piping support project.
* Promoting a right‑first‑time attitude and ensuring final quality of the delivery.
* Embedding and maintaining Nuclear Safety Culture behaviours.
* Providing assurance that manufacturing and construction processes are efficient and up‑to‑date.
* Being the main point of contact for all defined Project Quality aspects.
* Ensuring that the delivery centre applies the defined procedures for the project.
* Managing the quality assurance of manufacturing activities, including required NDT and dimensional checks and their associated records.
* Monitoring the performance status of projects through relevant indicators – Safety First, On Time, On Spec, On Budget, Customer Satisfaction.
* Understanding and exceeding customer (internal or external) needs and expectations.
* Communicating with the client on quality matters.
* Providing feedback to the project team and leaders on concerns regarding quality.
* Analyzing and resolving process quality issues and needs as they relate to process performance and quality requirements.
* Managing data related to KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and preparing performance reports for relevant stakeholders.
* Traveling to suppliers to ensure quality and process capacities are met.
* Familiarising with company policies and training the team to follow guidelines.
* Carrying out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.
Key Success Factors
* Compliance with nuclear safety principles and policy.
* Demonstrating an interrogative attitude, reporting unsafe practices, behaviours, equipment, and health, safety, quality and environmental concerns and incidents.
* Meeting KPIs against successful inspection against the specifications and standards.
Essential Qualifications
* Extensive work experience in a manufacturing or construction environment implementing quality programmes.
* Track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies and Continuous Improvement.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 19443 standards.
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills based on facts.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
* Valid driving licence.
