Overview
A full-time vacancy has arisen at Woking Community Mental Health Recovery Service for a Development post for a qualified mental health nurse working in the community. This post would be suited to a newly qualified registrant or a mental health nurse moving from inpatient care to the community. The post can lead to a band 6 post within the formal development structure. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team and may hold their own caseload as a care coordinator.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside other Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychology Assistants and Psychiatrists, and community support workers.
* Undertake assessments, including risk assessments, and provide initial client assessments referred to the service.
* Co-facilitate therapeutic groups and support individuals in mental health in the community.
* Hold a caseload as a care coordinator where appropriate and participate in structured clinical management for a recovery-focused approach.
* Demonstrate commitment to delivering a high-quality, recovery-focused service, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Engage in training opportunities to build skills in the delivery of low-intensity psychological interventions.
* Maintain professional responsibility for a number of service users and uphold excellent communication within the multidisciplinary team.
* Meet the community element requirements of the role, including holding a full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified mental health nurse (Band 5/6 development role).
* Strong communication and personal skills; ability to manage time effectively and work to meet caseload needs.
* Willingness to work in a community setting within a multidisciplinary team and to participate in supervision and training.
* Full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
