Job Title: Assistant Headteacher (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Up to £46,000.00 per annum dependent on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover until August 2026), Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher - Curriculum to join our close-knit team at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism.


About the role

To ensure effective curriculum delivery and high-quality teaching and learning, and to ensure that the curriculum meets all statutory requirements.

Lead on attainment and progress to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people, and lead curriculum innovation and design appropriate for our cohorts and in line with the school vision.

Lead on the effective implementation of the curriculum and to lead on aspects of professional development related to curriculum, teaching and learning, and quality assurance.


Key Responsibilities

* To improve the quality of teaching and learning by establishing effective approaches, monitoring curriculum areas, and ensuring plans are appropriate to the needs of cohorts and meet statutory requirements.
* Research, implement, and review innovative practices to support teaching and learning, including technology integration.
* Plan and write aspects of the School Improvement Plan related to teaching, learning, curriculum, and professional development, ensuring effective implementation.
* Coordinate and manage the work of specified leaders within the school to uphold outstanding outcomes.
* Develop practices for engaging pupils and parents in school review processes.
