We are looking for an Energy Management Engineer to work in the Crewe area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Vehicle Systems, extensive vehicle architecture knowledge, and experience testing both high and low voltage energy systems.
Duties include:
* Testing of LV and MV electrical vehicle systems, with reporting in accordance with VW golden rules and legislation.
* Planning, testing, and reporting of electrical stabilization tests on all projects.
* Testing and validating the LV energy system during set scenarios, following VW group specifications and requirements.
* Presenting findings and test reports to managers and stakeholders, with recommendations as needed.
* Organizing and testing owned systems locally and overseas.
* Reporting results and findings to ECU and function owners.
* Collaborating with other departments to meet milestones and deadlines.
* Liaising with group counterparts regarding parts and legislation compliance.
* Owning electrical storage system components, including hardware and software development through to series release.
Your profile
* Proficient with vehicle diagnostic tools (VW Group tools advantageous).
* Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and fault diagnosis skills.
* General vehicle electronic and mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
* Ability to work independently, setting own tasks and targets.
* Ownership of hardware and software for mid-voltage electrical systems, e.g., 48V super capacitor.
* Full driving license required.
