Overview:
We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a specialist secondary provision in Blackburn from September. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract.
The setting supports students with additional needs, offering a structured and supportive environment focused on building confidence, engagement, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Adapt teaching methods to support a range of learning abilities and needs
* Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
* Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
* Assess, monitor and report on student progress
* Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching English at secondary level
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to engage and motivate students with additional needs
* Passion for supporting student development both academically and personally
