We have been named a partner on a new AMP8 framework with United Utilities, which will extend our relationship for at least the next five years. The partnership is set to be responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England, including upgrades to wastewater treatment works and a large spill reduction programme protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.
Electrical Engineer – Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineer you will contribute to projects in the UK water market, providing feasibility, design, construction and commissioning services for water and wastewater treatment systems. You’ll shape electrical functions throughout the lifecycle of projects, from concept design to commissioning, ensuring all electrical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
Responsibilities
* Prepare electrical engineering designs for water treatment equipment, including Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA.
* Apply relevant design standards, Client and WIMES standards and legislation.
* Coordinate with the multidisciplinary design team to deliver designs on programme and within budget.
* Produce technical specifications and schedules for procurement; review supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
* Produce the URS for control systems, review supplier FDS and attend factory acceptance tests.
* Review and understand existing installed systems through site visits, drawings and reports.
* Engage positively with the client, managing relationships and supporting them to achieve their aims.
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Working towards IEng/CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution.
* Strong communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
* Methodical approach to problem solving.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.
