Mechanical Design Engineer - Electro-Mechanical Salary: £45,000–£55,000 Location: South West Cambridgeshire An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production. This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on cutting-edge R&D projects and contribute to the design of complex electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, with exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop products from concept through to production Design complex electro-mechanical systems 3D CAD design Build and test prototypes Work closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systems Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA) Skills & Experience Required: Degree in relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) Previous experience in developing electro-mechanical systems is a must - pneumatics, actuators, linear motors, servo motors or motion control products Strong 3D CAD design skills Proven experience developing products from concept through to manufacture Good understanding of materials, tolerances, manufacturing techniques Hands on workshop skills – build and testing prototypes If you’re looking to join a business that values creativity, quality and innovation, then apply with a copy of your CV.
