High Street Practice I Full-time -Part Time Considered
About Us
We are a small, independent high street firm with a strong reputation for providing a personal and professional service to our clients. We pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive, down‑earth working environment, where people are trusted, respected, and encouraged to do their best work.
The Role
You will handle a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, including divorce, financial remedy, and children work and is an excellent opportunity for someone who values both high‑quality legal work and a sustainable, balanced way of working.
The role is ideal for a Family Law Solicitor/Legal Executive seeking greater autonomy without sacrificing support. You will manage your own caseload with the assistance of a dedicated secretary, while benefiting from a collaborative environment alongside our experienced Litigation Department.
Importantly, this is a genuine career‑building opportunity, offering the chance to shape, grow, and lead the firm’s matrimonial department as it develops.
What We Offer
We genuinely value a healthy work‑life balance and recognise that our team have commitments outside of work.
* 9‑5 working day. We do not expect evening or weekend work, other than in exceptional circumstances to meet client needs
* A supportive and flexible approach to family commitments and unforeseen circumstances
* Generous holiday entitlement: 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, additional Christmas office closure, extra leave for long service, and a day off for your birthday
* Bonus scheme for fee earners, offering the opportunity to earn up to 10% of annual salary (paid quarterly, subject to performance)
* A friendly, approachable team environment
At the same time, we are committed to maintaining a high standard of client care. We trust our team to manage their caseloads effectively, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for their work.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3 years + PQE and experience in matrimonial/family law
* Ability to manage a caseload independently
* Strong client care and communication skills
* Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
* A professional and reliable approach to work
Why Join Us
We believe that a well‑supported team delivers the best outcomes for clients. Our approach is built on mutual trust: flexibility is supported, and in return we value professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
