Overview
The successful candidate will be keen and willing to learn and develop their career in an outpatients setting. In return the successful candidate would be supported in their career development in each area of the specialities.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake training to become confident in providing Aural Care in Nurse Led clinics. The role will involve the cleaning of Nasendoscopes used in clinic, the chaperoning of clinicians in a variety of Head and Neck clinics including assisting in Ultrasound clinics. The role will also require the mentoring of students and to work according to the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and relevant professional guidelines and to be accountable for their own professional actions. The successful candidate will also be required to develop and maintain clinical competencies, skill and knowledge which relate to the area of clinical practice. We offer the opportunity to participate in all the clinic specialities and encourage staff to learn new skills. The clinics themselves offer many different interventions and procedures within the department.
Responsibilities
* Provide Aural care and work alongside the Radiologist in Ultrasound Clinic, Minor Oral Surgery and Plastics dressings. Training will be provided.
* Chaperone clinicians in Head and Neck clinics and assist in Ultrasound clinics.
* Clean Nasendoscopes used in clinic and mentor students.
* Develop and maintain clinical competencies, skills and knowledge relevant to the area of clinical practice.
* Contribute to a positive patient journey and work across all clinic specialities when required.
Qualifications / Skills
* Excellent communication skills and a flexible attitude; ability to manage patients\' needs and liaise with Multi-disciplinary Teams.
* Commitment to delivering high quality care and ability to work as part of a team; ability to prioritise workload and liaise with staff from all disciplines.
* Evidence of relevant ongoing professional development.
* Willingness to work in all areas of the department including Aural care, Ultrasound Clinic, Minor Oral Surgery and Plastics dressings; training will be provided.
