Position: Health and Safety Coordinator Location: Northampton Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8.30am – 5.00pm | Friday, 8.30am – 3.00pm Pay: £30,000 – £35,000 per year Contract: Permanent Responsibilities: • Support the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and lead on follow-up actions. • Chair Health & Safety meetings and monitor progress of improvement plans. • Keep accurate records of incidents, near misses, investigations and reports. • Support accident investigations and ensure corrective actions are followed through. • Manage COSHH, DSE, PPE, fire safety, and HAVS documentation. • Coordinate safety training, health surveillance and onboarding for new starters. • Maintain communication channels – from notice boards to toolbox talks. • Ensure legal and company-wide health and safety compliance. • Liaise with bodies such as the HSE, local authorities and insurers as needed. • Promote best practices and raise awareness of health and safety across all levels. • Act as Laser Safety Officer / Radiation Protection Supervisor where required, and work closely with teams to understand high-risk equipment and ensure control measures are in place. What We’re Looking For: • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential • Solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation (e.g. RIDDOR, COSHH) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Experience managing health and safety documentation • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Desirable: • IOSH membership (TechIOSH or higher) • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or engineering environments • First Aid or Fire Warden qualification • Knowledge of ISO 45001 or 14001 standards Key Competencies: • Excellent attention to detail • Proactive and confident in identifying and raising safety risks • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills • Ability to train and influence others • Calm, responsive and solution-focused in incident response Want to play a vital role in driving a safe and compliant workplace?
