SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School | Waltham Cross (EN8)Start Date: After October Half Term 2025 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (6.5 hours paid per day) Contract: Full-time | Long-term Pay: £89 per day (PAYE) An inclusive primary school in Waltham Cross (EN8) is seeking a highly experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from after the October half term. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting pupils with complex needs in both classroom and 1:1 settings. The role involves working closely with children who have Autism (ASD), non-verbal communication needs, developmental delays, and behavioural or emotional challenges. You’ll support learning through a combination of classroom support and targeted interventions, helping to manage behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and build communication skills. We’re looking for someone who: -Has strong experience supporting children with complex needs, including Autism, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation needs -Is confident in using alternative communication tools (e.g. PECS, Makaton) -Understands and applies effective behaviour management strategies with consistency and care -Has previous experience working in a UK primary school or Early Years setting – this is essential -Brings patience, empathy, resilience, and a flexible, team-focused attitude If you’re passionate about supporting vulnerable children and want to play a key role in a nurturing, forward-thinking school community, we’d love to hear from you.
